The Maritime Foundation promotes awareness of the UK’s dependence upon the sea and seafarers
The Maritime Foundation promotes Britain’s interests across the entire maritime sector. Its purpose is to inform and raise public and parliamentary awareness of the importance of Britain’s maritime industries, commerce and defence through education, training and research, as well as through the Foundation’s annual Maritime Media Awards.

Britain and the Sea
British maritime experts gathered at EUBATS to debate critical issues on fisheries, shipping and maritime security left hanging in the balance ahead of the EU referendum at The Naval Club, Hill Street, London on Thursday 9th June 2016.
Lost At Sea
The Memorial Book for those lost at sea with no known grave provides an enduring memorial, representing a focus of remembrance for relatives, friends and the entire nation. The book is on display at All Hallows by the Tower in London.
Maritime Films UK
The Foundation has launched Maritime Films UK as an independent film production company offering a specialised film making service to the marine and maritime sector. All profits support the work of the Maritime Foundation.
Maritime Media Awards
This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Maritime Media Awards, held annually to give recognition to journalists, writers and film-makers whose work deepens public understanding of Britain’s dependence on the sea and maritime matters.
